I am writing to inform you EVIHDAF (Evidence for Sustainable Human Development Systems in Africa) is migrating to a new visual identity.
This new identity adopted by EVIHDAF is centralized on success.
The logo is accompanied by a signature “strengthening evidence-based decision-making in Africa“, which highlights its desire and determination to see, day by day, the human development systems in Africa transformed thanks to the evidence EVIHDAF will have produced and / or extended.
This new visual identity, which preserves EVIHDAF’s core identity, is much more than a simple logo or signature change. It represents EVIHDAF’s vision that African institutions and communities have agency to produce and use evidence to transform human development systems.
The base of the logo is a typography with a font called coolvetica, readjusted with rounded corners to give the logo a softer look.
The main colour is “Catalina Blue”, a type of blue whose connotation for us is associated with intelligence, calm, logic, and reflection. Blue is a soothing colour that evokes deep thought and encourages reflection. It’s also a symbol of rationality and science. It highlights the slightly brighter secondary colour of the “la Palma” logo, on the letter “V”. La Palma, a green that symbolizes balance, nature, and rebirth. For us, this green symbolizes prosperity, freshness, and progress.
The letter “V” in question is characterized by its tick-like shape implying success and validation. In the EVIHDAF context, this logo marked with this checkmark attests to the fact that all projects, programs, and activities carried out by the organization will be marked by a great success. As for its lower-case shape, it makes its style simple and recognizable whatever its size, while expressing EVIHDAF’s dynamism, friendliness, and proximity to all its targets.
Henceforth, we will be using this new identity in all our branding tools and subsequent communications and deeply wish you integrate and vulgarize this.
Together, let’s embrace EVIHDAF’s new identity! Thank you.
