Sustainable Development Goal 2 is premised on the notion that everyone should have access to sufficient nutritious food. In sub-Saharan Africa about 220 million people still suffer from hunger, and 36% of children under the age of five years are affected by stunting – a chronic form of under – nutrition defined as inadequate height for age – according to United Nations’ reports. In this context, nutrition is a powerful driver of the sustainable development goals.
